The Marion County Juniors Boys 14 and under Team just returned from playing in the USAV Regionals in Orlando on June 12th and 13th. They finished first in the Silver Division winning all of their games on Sunday and bringing home medals. They will be hosting a two day home tournament here in Ocala in July with teams coming to stay and play from all over Florida. |

Douwyna Montalvo and Karla Rojas have committed to play volleyball at the college level. Montalvo, a 5’4” outside hitter on MCJ’s 18’s USAV team, will graduate from Westport High School this year. She will play for Indian River State College, a D3 volleyball school, where she plans to study sports medicine.
Another MCJ 18’s USAV player, Karla Rojas, has been awarded a scholarship at Averett University in Danville, Virginia, also a D3 volleyball school. The 5’5” Belleview High School outside hitter plans to study athletic training. |

MCJ’s Coaching Director, Jesus Montalvo, has been named as an assistant coach to the 2010 Boy’s Youth High Performance Training Camp, International Division. In addition, MCJ has four athletes going to High Performance camps this summer. Nelson Rodriguez, John Montalvo, and Reggie Montalvo received invitations to the Boys Youth team, and Douwyna Montalvo has been invited to participate on the Girls Junior team. Congratulations to Coach Jesus and all of these outstanding athletes. |
